Basic Principles 1
The class, Basic Principles 1, is a meticulously designed curriculum introducing the world of metaphysical teachings or New Thought.
The following is taken from William L. Fischer. Alternatives: New Approaches to Traditional Christian Beliefs
“Many of the doctrines and teachings of the Christian religion are accepted by its followers without question. Many of us learned the tenets of our religion early in life—perhaps during our Sunday school days. As life became more complicated, we simply continued to accept what we had learned earlier. Life no longer afforded time for religious exploration and development. This book is intended to give you an opportunity to explore some of the beliefs you have accepted and to determine for yourself whether they are still fitting.
If growth is promoted, bear in mind that growth means change, and change is not always comfortable. But the experience of personal growth is well worth temporary discomfort. I trust that what you are about to read will become an adventure in growth for you.”

Welcome to an enriching journey towards deeper spiritual insight and personal transformation.
The following is taken from The New Thought Christian by William Warch
"There is a quiet revolution taking place throughout the world which is in reality a sign of spiritual growth. Many people are breaking away from traditional dogmatic religious beliefs declaring that, "It isn't right for me." This has all come about by people who feel God is more than a judgmental overseer in the sky who sends some people to heaven and others to hell. There must be a higher definition for people other than "sinners." Within the heart of these individuals is the conviction that there is a God or Supreme Power that they wish to embrace every minute of every day instead of fear. These people seek a new definition of God, Christ, and Holy Spirit. They seek a loving presence rather than one that triggers guilt and duty. "
Basic Principles 2: Lessons in Truth
Lessons in Truth is a clear, concise representation of New Thought philosophy and metaphysical Christianity. The spiritual concepts presented in these twelve lessons show us how to increase our personal empowerment and enhance our spiritual growth. Dr. Cady teaches that our lives can be transformed by the power of our thoughts, words, and beliefs. She encourages us to find our truth as it is written in our own hearts and then apply these truths in every area of our lives.
Lessons in Truth helps readers make significant changes in their lives by better understanding and putting into practice the power of their own thoughts, beliefs, and even the words they speak. Instruction on faith, affirmations, and unity of the spirit that guide students toward a metaphysical and practical approach to Christianity. Lessons in Truth potentially can benefit anyone seeking unity and truth, no matter his religious affiliation.

Welcome to your next step in discovering the power that resides within you which can change your life, world and affairs.
The following is an excerpt taken from Emily Cady's book, Lessons in Truth
"In entering upon this course of instruction, each of you should, so far as possible, lay aside, for the time being, all previous theories and beliefs. By so doing you will be saved the trouble of trying, all the way through the course, to put "new wine into old wineskins" (Lk. 5:37). If there is anything, as we proceed, which you do not understand or agree with, just let it lie passively in your mind until you have read the entire book, for many statements that would at first arouse antagonism and discussion will be clear and easily accepted a little farther on. After the course is completed, if you wish to return to your old beliefs and ways of living, you are at perfect liberty to do so. But, for the time being, be willing to become as a little child; for, said the Master, in spiritual things, "Except ye . . . become as little children, ye shall in no wise enter into the kingdom of heaven" (Mt. 18:3). If at times there seems to be repetition, please remember that these are lessons, not lectures."
"Finally . . . be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might" (Eph. 6:10).

Seeking Divine Spirit is your first priority, not your last resort.
Life is eternal. We are spiritual beings having human experiences. Know that the omnipresence of Divine Spirit never fails to move with omnipotence and omniscience.
All is well, despite what appears to be real.
“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.”
Proverbs 3:5-6
Center yourself through prayer, meditation and sitting in the silence.
Find a safe and supportive space where you can rest and spend time with yourself.
Wrestle not with your thoughts and the pictures in your mind. Let them flow and fade away like a puff of smoke that dissipates without your help. Be still. Listen. Spirit speaks.
“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”
Psalms 26:3
Fill your mind and heart with God's Word and soul-stirring music.
Read inspirational books and materials. Reflect on the many sermons and lessons you have heard. Place those same memories upfront in your mind and heart.
Finally, listen to upbeat music that has lyrics that lifts and motivates you. Dance! Embrace your inner joy!
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:6-7
Expect healing, peace, harmony and prosperity. Maintain an “expect-a-miracle” state of mind.
“You are the thinker, that thinks the thoughts, that makes the thing.” You are a magnet. Choose your thoughts wisely and keep watch over thy tongue!
“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.”
Psalm 121:1-2
Rise up, stand firm, and be the peace you seek.
Embrace the change that has taken place. Resist getting hypnotized by the news media and their optics. Spirit will reveal itself, and its solutions for the world’s restoration and balance.
“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”
Psalms 46:10
The Light of God surrounds you.
The Love of God enfolds you.
The power of God protects you.
The Presence of God watches over you.
The Mind of God guides you.
The Life of God flows through you.
The Laws of God direct you.
The Peace of God abides within you.
The Joy of God uplifts you.
The Strength of God renews you.
The Beauty of God inspires you.
Wherever you are, God is!
And all is well. Amen.
